The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye, has called on the leadership of the country to adopt a more sustained, non-partisan approach to national development anchored on a clear long-term vision.
The Chairman of CoP, speaking at the 2026 edition of the National Day of Prayer held in Accra on Wednesday, July 1, insisted that Ghana must move beyond short-term responses to recurring challenges and focus on a structured development agenda that spans decades.
He stressed that Ghana’s progress should be guided by a shared national vision, rather than reactive efforts aimed only at solving immediate problems.
“There must be a long-term, non-partisan, passionate process intended to give us the Ghana we want. Otherwise, we will just be solving problems,” Apostle Nyamekye said.
He further noted that effective leadership is defined by clear vision and direction, not just problem-solving.
“Leadership is not about solving problems, but it is about a contagious vision that drives a people to a planned destination. We should be able to know where we want to be in 50 years to come,” he stated.
Apostle Nyamekye further called for the establishment of strong institutional frameworks to ensure continuity and support long-term national development plans.
“There must be a solid structure or solid structures that will carry this nation,” the Chairman of CoP added.
