The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged all party executives and grassroots members to actively participate in the upcoming national clean-up exercises declared by President John Dramani Mahama.
The clean-up exercises follow the recent flooding that affected parts of the Greater Accra Region and several other parts of the country.
The call forms part of the party’s broader civic responsibility initiative ahead of its constituency elections scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, and is aimed at promoting environmental sanitation and encouraging community engagement.
In a statement issued from the party’s headquarters and signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP stressed that leadership should be demonstrated through direct service to local communities.
The statement said all regional and constituency executives are expected to mobilise party members within their respective jurisdictions to take part in the clean-up exercise.
The party, however, clarified that although it is mobilising its members, the exercise is open to all Ghanaians, stressing that environmental cleanliness transcends political affiliation.
According to the statement, regular clean-up exercises are essential to improving public health and helping prevent seasonal disease outbreaks, particularly in densely populated communities.
